Please visit the Australian Government website for more information and a list of FAQ’s: www.immi.gov.au/e_visa/working-holiday.htm
- How long does it take to process my Visa application?
It can take up to 6 weeks for your Visa application to be processed, however, we have had some circumstances where they have been approved in less than a week and even as little as 24hrs! It is important to remember, that once your Visa has been approved you have up to 12 months to validate it at a Port of Entry.
- How much does it cost to actually get to Canada and be permitted to work?
As a very broad guideline, these are the costs that you can expect to incur during the pre departure process:
- Flights - $1500 - $2200 depending on time of year.
- Travel Insurance - $1300 - $1500 per annum
- Working Holiday Permit
- Australia - $230
- Canada - $190
- International Driving Permit - $15 - $20
You will also need evidence of $4000 funds to enter Australia or Canada. This can be in many forms and a complete list can be found at either:

- Will there be accommodation at my job?
Yes. All the employers we work with will either provide or pre-arrange accommodation prior to your arrival. Some employers will charge rent and you will be responsible for all your own meals, whilst others will provide your accommodation free of charge, all meals, many provide a vehicle for you to get around locally in, and some even provide fuel and a phone. All these benefits will be negotiated between employee and employer with some guidance from us as to what is fair.
- What is the going rate of pay?
We negotiate a minimum rate of pay with the employer prior to agreeing to find an employee for them. The minimum rate that we will recruit an employee for in Canada is slightly less than the minimum rate for Australia. This is simply due to the different economies and workplace standards. You will be paid at the rate of a local employee of the same experience. This will be negotiated with the employer and agreed upon prior to your arrival.
- How do I claim my Tax back from Canada?
The Canadian Tax year runs from January 1 – December 31. If you are still in Canada and would like to make an Income Tax claim, visit a local accountant who should be able to assist you. If you have since returned to Australia and are wondering about how you can go about claiming your Tax back, visit this website: http://www.taxback.com/can-tax-refund-faq.asp
